United Ghosts Blast Into The Stratosphere With “Holes Into The Night,” Debut Single and Music Video Out Today

Spacey Los Angeles rockers United Ghosts are releasing their debut single, “Holes Into the Night” today November 18 in limited edition 7” vinyl and digital download formats.

United Ghosts features shared boy/girl vocals on top of a dizzying mix of swirling guitars, spaced-out synths, and ethereal drones, with propulsive drums that keep the momentum forward.

Lauded by Las Vegas Weeekly for their “arena quality” live sound, the band’s ability to document their sound in the studio is equally impressive. BuzzBands.la described “Holes Into the Night” as a “dream in fast motion, the kind of roll-the-windows-down psych-rocker you used to hear on the radio in 1990s, and would welcome today.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JOHANNA CHASE LEADS THE I HEART PEOPLE TOUR ON VEGGIE OIL POWERED SCHOOL BUS; TWO SIDES EP AND LIVE DVD SET FOR RELEASE AUGUST 8

LOS ANGELES, July 21, 2011 — On the wheels of a big blue school bus converted to run on vegetable oil, Johanna Chase will take her raw tales of urban folk on the road as she leads The I Heart People Tour through 7 West Coast cities, culminating with the release of her Two Sides7” vinyl EP and 25 Years Automatic: Johanna Chase Live DVD August 8.

As noted by the Pasadena Star-News, “Johanna Chase isn’t afraid to sing from the heart,” and her honesty serves as a breathe of fresh air in a musical climate plagued by staged irony and detachment. Aided by a powerful voice that seamlessly skips between registers, Johanna will also be backed by a full band that bring her genre-defying mix of blues, bluegrass, funk, and alternative rock to full life.  Her intimate, yet intense live shows have included performances at the Phoenix Pride Festival 2009-2011, as well opening slots for David Bazan and Aaron Sprinkle.

The I Heart People Tour will also include singer/songwriter Tin Santos, illustrator Andress Yourself, filmmaker Ryan Maxey and other friends from The BLVD, their community of more than 30 friends in 5 houses, including Synchronicity LA. Recently featured in GOOD Magazine, Synchronicity LA aims to “generating community through hospitality, intentionality, artistic action, and a dedication to the reduction of harm.” To further promote their goals, the tour will be hosting bus-side potlucks in each city before gigs played by Johanna and her band. Fans are invited to join the crew around the bus for music from Tin Santos, live screen printing (tour shirts) by Andress Yourself, photo booth portraits on the front of the bus provided by Maxey Fish and Sea Reels, and a community mural open to all on the side of the bus.

Pre-orders for Johanna’s Two Sides EP and 25 Years Automatic: Johanna Chase Live DVD will be available at the shows, and fans who take advantage of the pre-order will be given instant download codes for their content in digital formats, as well as Almost Songs: A Book of Poetry. Later this year, she will release her 2nd full-length album Neutral and continue to tour, with dates to be announced shortly.
